Completion of this phase is required before intake begins.
The Dane Crew Sanctuary operates as a lifetime placement, non-adoption, low-visibility sanctuary focused on stability, predictability, and long-term care. Our core mission is to provide lifetime custodial care for dogs who cannot be safely or ethically placed elsewhere due to Senior status, Trauma, or Behavioral needs.

Donation Request Policy
We are currently seeking unconditional charitable donations of materials or services to support our next phase of development. At this time, we are only able to accept fully donated items or services.
In compliance with IRS regulations regarding charitable contributions, the sanctuary cannot accept or evaluate commercial sales proposals, discounted quotes, or promotional partnerships."
If your organization is able to make a true charitable contribution, we will provide our IRS determination letter and any documentation needed for your records. Once donation eligibility is confirmed, we will send the specific list of items needed for this phase.
If your support is limited to commercial sales or discounted services, please let us know so we can close this request on our end.

Land Stewardship & Conservation Commitment
We maintain a conservation‑focused approach to all land use on the sanctuary property. Management practices are designed to protect the existing wildlife corridor, preserve native habitat, and avoid disruption to established movement patterns of deer and other wildlife.
Our development plans prioritize low‑impact methods, minimal ground disturbance, and long‑term ecological stability. Any improvements to the property are evaluated for compatibility with native vegetation, soil structure, and the surrounding habitat.
Regenerative Agriculture & Self‑Sustaining Operations
Our long‑term operational model includes a small‑scale, regenerative agricultural system designed to support the sanctuary’s internal needs. These practices focus on soil health, water retention, and low‑impact food production that complements the existing habitat rather than altering it.
The goal is to reduce external resource dependence while maintaining a closed, stable system that aligns with the property’s natural conditions. All agricultural activity is planned to remain compatible with the wildlife corridor, native vegetation, and the overall ecological balance of the land.

Dane Crew Sanctuary was born from more than a decade of personal dedication to Great Danes facing some of the most difficult circumstances imaginable. While the sanctuary is still in development and not yet accepting Danes, the mission is already underway. Every policy written, partnership formed, and resource secured brings us one step closer to creating a place where severely traumatized, behaviorally complex, and special‑needs Great Danes can find stability, understanding, and long‑term support.
